Why we are including this example
Purpose:
"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." ~ Helen Keller
When it comes to working as a team, there are various tools to use to organize, meet, share information, and collaborate on a project. This assignment will help you to get started on the right foot together, learn about what tools are available, and pick one to use as well as how and when you will complete your work.
Task:
For this assignment, you need to meet with your group to decide which communication tools you will use for group work and meetings this semester:
- Set up a time and place (in-person or on Teams) to meet with your group and discuss.
- During the meeting, review the communication tools listed on the Communication Tools Page.
- Create a Tweet that lists all of your names and answers the following questions:
- Meeting: How will you meet regularly (in-person, conference call, or video conferencing)?
- If in-person, where exactly will you meet?
- If by phone or video conferencing, who will initiate the calls or set up the video channel?
- Collaborating: What tool will you use to collaborate on the assignments?
- It should provide a place to post information, share ideas, put meeting minutes/official team meeting notes, and create your presentation and/or elements needed.
- This can be multiple tools but should have a central location.
- Storing: Where will you put documents and resources (aka File-Storage) for your project?
- This can be the same as where you are collaborating or elsewhere if large files.
- Highly recommend it is not just on one person's computer.
- Meeting: How will you meet regularly (in-person, conference call, or video conferencing)?
- One group member should submit a link to your Tweet with all of your names and your tool choices.
Important: The tools you select must be free and accessible by all.
