  Welcome Statement

Hi All!

My name is Dr. Natalie Grecu (Gree-Q). You are welcome to call me either Dr. Grecu or Natalie! This is my third year teaching at UVU, and I’m very excited to be here and to be your professor for this semester’s online COMM 3570 Crisis Communication class! As you’ll see below, I worked in the field of Communication for 6 years before pursuing graduate school. I truly enjoy talking to students about their career interests! Please do not hesitate to set up a chat with me to discuss professional opportunities that align with your awesome talents and strengths!

I’m excited to be working with you, and I look forward to getting to know you as we move through the semester!

  Education and Experience

I’m originally from Indiana and graduated from Purdue University in 2003 with a Communication degree in the area of advertising. I have worked as a marketing consultant for a radio station, at an advertising agency in Indianapolis, and also for a nonprofit organization. After 6 years of working in the field of Communication, I earned a Master’s in Organizational Communication from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. I then earned my Doctorate in Strategic Communication/Environmental Communication from Washington State University in Pullman, WA. I taught Public Relations and Communication courses for 5 years at Missouri Southern State University before moving to Utah this summer with my husband, Patrick, and our cantankerous cat!

My research focuses on multi-stakeholder engagement surrounding contentious issues and dialogic communication to promote relationship-centered communication engagement opportunities.

In my spare time, I enjoy painting and crafts, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, baking, and hiking!
