WHAT I Want You To Do:
This is a 3-part activity; each part requires critical thinking and application as it relates to Commitment #5.
Here is an overview of this 3-part activity:
- Part 1: State a current leadership challenge you have on the Think Tank Board.
- Part 2 - Provide your classmates with solutions to their challenges on the Think Tank board.
- Part 3: Reflect and apply what you learned from your peers.
This is Part 1 of the assignment.
Pay attention to due dates; Part 2 of this 3-part assignment is the day after Part 1.
WHY I Want You To Do It:
Sometimes solutions to challenges can be hard to find when you are too personally involved or invested in this situation. You can learn how to Challenge the Process by sharing your challenges with others outside the situation who might have simple, creative, or outsight solutions to recommend. By participating in this activity, we are creating a learning community in which we can learn from each other and share ideas. Use this activity as a way to practice overcoming a challenge in a safe environment. This activity is a way to experience “outsight” thinking.
HOW To Do It: Part 1
Follow these directions for Part 1 of the activity.
- Think of a current student leadership challenge you face. It would be a situation in the university community such as a class project or UVU club, a work-related project, or a volunteer or community situation.
- Note: Personal challenges such as family situations are not appropriate for this activity.
- Post your challenge on the [Think Tank Board (Create Your Own Padlet)] and add your first name. The expectation for this activity is for you to post one (1) challenge or situation. Feel free to post more challenges or situations. You must describe the situation so your peers will understand the situation and be able to provide outsight solutions. I have shared an example posting on the Think Tank board to demonstrate how to post.
- So I know you have completed this activity, copy and paste your posted challenge into the assignment text box. By doing this I know you have completed Part 1.
Grading:
Review the rubric before you start the activity so you understand the expectations. Review the rubric again after completing the activity to verify you have met the activity expectations.
