This page provides writing guidelines for our class.

PAPER GUIDELINES

  • Use APA7 Writing Style (American Psychological Association)  (unless otherwise specified by your professor)
  • Include properly formatted title, body, and reference pages 
  • Abstracts are NOT required
  • 1” margins 12 point font (unless otherwise specified by your professor)
  • Double spaced (unless otherwise specified in assignment detail)
  • All direct quotes and paraphrasing must be properly cited. Otherwise, your paper will be deemed plagiarism.  
  • Excessive use of direct quotes will result in a reduction in points.  You need to be able to synthesize your resources and create your own new knowledge and conclusions. 
  • Papers without citations will receive 0 points
  • Any papers submitted that are off topic will receive 0 points
  • Proofread carefully (deductions will be made for spelling, grammatical, or style errors)
  • Page counts (are in addition to title and reference pages) are for actual informative content and must be a full pages (e.g. if a paper calls for 3 pages, it should be at least 5 pages including title and reference pages).
