This page provides APA writing guidelines for students who might need a reference as they are completing assignments.

This page provides writing guidelines for our class.
PAPER GUIDELINES
- Use APA7 Writing Style (American Psychological Association) (unless otherwise specified by your professor)
- Include properly formatted title, body, and reference pages
- Abstracts are NOT required
- 1” margins 12 point font (unless otherwise specified by your professor)
- Double spaced (unless otherwise specified in assignment detail)
- All direct quotes and paraphrasing must be properly cited. Otherwise, your paper will be deemed plagiarism.
- Excessive use of direct quotes will result in a reduction in points. You need to be able to synthesize your resources and create your own new knowledge and conclusions.
- Papers without citations will receive 0 points
- Any papers submitted that are off topic will receive 0 points
- Proofread carefully (deductions will be made for spelling, grammatical, or style errors)
- Page counts (are in addition to title and reference pages) are for actual informative content and must be a full pages (e.g. if a paper calls for 3 pages, it should be at least 5 pages including title and reference pages).
