Considerations for Projects

Introduction

This page provides resources for consideration when requiring large projects.

  • Scaffold students through large projects
    • Outline major milestones and deliverables
  • Assign interim parts of the project due throughout the semester to keep students on track and provide feedback
  • Require students to implement feedback in their final deliverables or push back on why they chose not to implement the feedback
  • Allow students to showcase their work as part of a final deliverable
    • In class or online presentations to the class
  • Include an opportunity for students to reflect on their learning:
    • What is the most valuable thing you learned?
    • How did you learn it?
    • How will you apply it going forward?
    • If you could begin again, what would you do differently?

Projects can be in many forms such as Service Learning or applications of processes and theories.

  • See the following Service Learning project for one example that can be adapted to most projects types.
