Module 9 Overview
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Analyze successful established / professional character line-ups in preparation for their Character Line-Up Assignment.
- Create silhouettes of their characters to generate variety and experiment with shape psychology.
- Discuss and critique the effectiveness of their silhouette assignment with their peers and instructors in preparation for their preliminary work.
Overview
In preparation for this assignment students will pick an illustrator whose works they admire and then research their process. In the module discussion students will post examples of the work of the illustrator they admire and then discuss their process for creating art. Students will then propose which of the processes their influencer used that would be useful in creating the next assignment. Students will complete the exercise "Line-up Silhouettes" to experiment with visual communication using shape.
