  Welcome Statement

Hello and welcome to the HLTH 2200: Intro to Health Professions course. This course will explore a variety of different health professions to help you identify potential careers within the health field. I hope you enjoy the course and are able to find a future career that fits you and aligns with what you are passionate about!

 Education and Experience

I graduated from UVU back in 2013 in Community Health and loved my experience. In 2014, I graduated from the University of Utah with my Master of Public Health degree (go Utes!). I am currently in what I hope is the last year of my Ph.D. program (fingers crossed) and working on my dissertation. My dissertation will study the physical activity levels of master-planned communities (Daybreak). I have presented at local and national conferences and have been awarded national scholarships. I have been teaching at UVU since the beginning of 2018.

Professionally, I have worked in nonprofit (domestic violence and breast cancer) and for a local police department and have learned a variety of skills and gained invaluable experiences in both the public and nonprofit sector that have helped me as a health educator.

In my spare time, I love to play board and card games, be active (running or walking), spend time with family, and watching Netflix or Disney+ with my husband.
