Module 2: Watch, Williams, Digital Survival Kit, 1 through 4

  Watch: Digital Survival Kit

Richard Williams

Williams passed away recently, but he left a legacy to the education of animators. Some time ago he began conducting live workshops, and recording those sessions. He, and his studio worked to turn his lectures/demonstrations into a digital series.

The entire Animation Survival Kit in a digital format is included in this course. A few will be referenced for projects completed during the term. However, watching the complete series will help you understand what makes animation great in the mind of one of the world's best craftsmen.

To be clear, watching Williams' digital series is optional, but is recommended. It's s full course in the discipline of animation all by itself.

Richard Williams is English. His work was done primarily in Canada and the UK - he was a great producer/animator, but he does not always use politically correct language in these vids. The information is great though.

His digital series is being included in this course to help reinforce animation principles. It will take a lot of screen time to watch all 16 volumes, but will be of benefit. These videos are reference materials you can throughout the course.

These videos are highly recommended, especially Video 2, Timing and Space.
