Final - Discuss: MS Teams Group Presentation (Discussion)

  Discuss: Group Presentation

*Note: This discussion has been converted to a Canvas page to facilitate viewing in this public course

Overview

This will be the final assignment as part of the group project. As a team, your group will research an aviation company as given by the instructor. You will research all aspects of this company, and present your findings at the end of the course. Your group will create a report as part of this research, with the final draft of that report being your Group Report. This assignment will be a further extension of your research, as you will present your group's report.

Guidelines

For this assignment, you will give a presentation of your company's business report to the rest of the class. You will need to have a visual aid (PowerPoint, Sway, or similar) to go along with your presentation.

Instructions

Complete this assignment by doing the following:

  1. As a group, prepare a presentation where you outline your company (who, what, where, when, and why) and the business proposal you created.
    1. Your presentation, like your written report, should justify the reason why you made the decisions you did to form your proposal.
    2. Keep in mind some of the important aspects of communication covered in class.
  2. Choose 1 person in your team to post your recorded group presentation to this discussion by Wednesday.
  3. By Sunday respond to at least two additional group posts (individually, not as a team). Please respond to posts that do not have replies first. If all posts have a reply, then you can choose which one to respond to.
    • Remember! Just saying “I agree!” or something similar is not substantial.
    • Your feedback should be thoughtful, substantive, and respectful, and should reflect your own exploration of the topic under discussion as well as trying to understand others' ideas. Provide feedback on their conclusions and encourage them to continue their research. Present examples of what you are doing to learn more.

Format:

  1. You must have a visual aid incorporated into your video
  2. Your presentation will have to be a minimum of 10 minutes.
  3. Every group member must speak!
  4. You can upload a video of you giving your presentation or post a link given at the end of your meeting together.
  5. If uploading a file, it must be in a common (wmv, mpg) video format. Alternatively, a link to a video host site that can be accessed by the instructor can also be used. Remember that it is your group’s responsibility to ensure that the video is uploaded to the discussion successfully and that everybody can see it.
  6. Please keep file sizes small! A standard definition video is fine. Check your recording software, as most default to a very high definition standard, and thus greatly increase the file size of the resulting video.
  7. If using a file sharing site like OneDrive, Google Drive, or YouTube you must ensure that everybody has access to the file. If the video can’t be seen, I will treat your group’s presentation as if it was not submitted.
  8. A visual aid (PowerPoint slides) must accompany the presentation whether using PowerPoint, Kaltura or any other video recording software.

Please note that this is an online class and you are NOT expected to meet with your team face-2-face. We have the tools to meet online anytime, anywhere. See the MS Teams help section below. If you have additional questions please contact your instructor before the due date.
