Overview
Throughout the semester you have spent eight weeks working in a group tracking weather.
Instructions Review
For this assignment you will be randomly paired with 3 other classmates in a group of 4. The weather in your local area will be different than the weather in one of your classmates area. What will your team be tracking and just how to track the weather in a team?
- One person will track, observe, and document weather in their area for 1 week. Then, you will rotate and one other team member will track their local weather for 1 week, and rotate again to someone new the following week. Everyone will have a chance to track weather in their area. You must document everyday when you are assigned your week. By the end each student will have 7 slides for each of their days assigned.
- Track the weather using any outlook weather forecasts and TAFs.
- Observe using satellite imagery, radar observations, METARs, Winds and Temperature Aloft, and Surface Analysis Charts. Interpret your weather data as if you're flight planning.
- Document with screenshots, pictures, or copy/paste into a Microsoft 365 doc.
- After everyone in your group has tracked their local weather for one week you must create a team weather report presentation. Your team will decide on the presentation method, but it can be a PowerPoint, Video, Infographic, Microsoft Sway, or any other online presentation tools. Your instructor will be looking for evidence that all 4 team members participated in the activity.
- Your first slide should be a title slide with your team NUMBER and team members NAMES. You will also need a separate title slide on individual assigned weeks with your name. Weekly individual slides without a name will be docked points.
You will not need to meet in person for this activity; working remotely with each other can be easily accomplished. If your team has any questions, please contact your instructor.
