Week 6: Submit | Family Dynamic Meme

Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to help you connect and understand how theoretical family dynamics are present in your own family relationships.

Task

1. Create a meme using any personal family picture of your choice. Caption the meme to identify a prominent dynamic within your family. If you need help creating a meme, read the Meme Generator section below.

2. Write a 1-page reflection paper identifying why you created the meme the way you did and how that family dynamic is most frequently manifest. Your paper must be a Word document, written in 12 point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and follow APA formatting.

   1. Include a brief introduction and background to the picture you selected and why you selected your chosen caption.
   2. Discuss how you experience your chosen family dynamic (i.e, the best parts, the most frustrating parts, etc.).
   3. Include a brief personal reflection on other member of your family would describe their experience of your selected family dynamic.

3. Submit the meme and the paper to Canvas.

Meme Generator

There are several tools you can use to create a meme. Choose the one you prefer.

For those who have never created a meme before, Meme Generator | ImgFlip Links to an external site. is easy to use and fairly intuitive. To create a meme with ImgFlip, follow these steps once you get to the website:

1. Select "Upload new template"
   
2. Select "Upload image from your device"
   
3. Select the image you want to use on your computer. Crop it as needed and click "Upload."
   
4. Fill out the Top and/or Bottom Text and select "Private." (Selecting Private" prevents it from being seen publicly and lets you save it just to your computer.)
   
5. Click the "Generate" button.
   
6. Select "Download Image."
   

Once you've downloaded the image, you can change the file name and upload and submit it to Canvas (below).
